BRANDON DAVIS is waiting for finale

October 8, 2009  (Huntington Beach, CA)  -  Points leader, Brandon Davis, is patiently waiting for the season finale of the SPEED World Challenge GT at Mazda Raceway at Laguna Seca on October 11, 2009.   Brandon Davis, just 23 years old, has been a consistent top qualifier and finisher in a field populated with seasoned professional drivers and yet, tops the championship battle by 62 points.  Driving the # 10 Ford Mustang Cobra sponsored by Applied Computer Solutions and Sun Microsystems, Davis has celebrated on the podium seven times and scored his only victory of the season at Mid-Ohio.  In addition, Davis set the fastest qualifying lap at Mosport, Watkins Glen, and Mid-Ohio.  With the dynamic season results to date, Davis credits the team’s consistent mechanical reliability for completing every lap of nine races run to date.  Brandon Davis is counting on his #10 Mustang Cobra reliability to outpace his closest competitor until the last lap at Laguna Seca to secure the coveted title.

“The championship is in no way clinched”, said Davis. “I have to look at this race as no different from the others even though there is the added pressure and the stakes are high.  We have fought hard to compete against the other teams up to this point.  They will be fighting for final positions, too and it will make for a thrilling race.”

At Road Atlanta, the ACS Express Racing Team and Brandon Davis unveiled the 2010 Ford Mustang.   “The team created the latest generation of bodywork for the SCCA World Challenge GT competition to arrive on the track when the new models are driving on the roads” stated Mike Davis, team owner and proud father.  “Too often, the race vehicle styles lag behind the production cars and our partnership with Ford Racing was instrumental in seeing this project through with us. It was great to see Brandon finish third in the new car.”

Round 10 of the SPEED World Challenge GT from Mazda Raceway at Laguna Seca is on Sunday, October 11th at 2:45 p.m.
