CITY SEEKERS : ACS EXPRESS EXCELS ON STREET EVENTS

DETROIT – The streets of Long Beach were paved with gold and now that the SCCA SPEED GT World Challenge Series is back on a street course, ACS Express Racing is looking for a repeat of the same result.

Driver Brandon Davis and teammate, team owner and father Mike Davis are bringing their powerful Ford Mustang Cobras to the motor city for Detroit Bell Isle Grand Prix. Brandon will be looking to make it two-for-two in city events,, as he won the Long Beach Grand Prix in April from pole to checkered.

Brandon, who drives the #10 jet black Ford Mustang Cobra, is currently fifth in GT drivers standings with 517 points. He was challenging for the championship as late as last week, an amazing feat for a series rookie. In addition to winning Long Beach, he has second-place finishes at Salt Lake and Mid-Ohio.

“Brandon is racing as fast as the Ford Mustang can possible be driven,” said Mike the proud father. “He’s on the ragged edge. He’s enthusiastic.”

Mike Davis is coming off his best race of the season, last week at Mosport. After being spun at the start and falling back to 21st, he fought his way back through the field and finished ninth. The experienced driver who won an SCCA Trans Am title as a team owner in 2002, is excited about Belle Isle.  He is 12th in the drivers standings with 371 points.

“It’s a neat track,” said the driver of the vibrant neon yellow and purple #11 Ford Mustang Cobra.  “It’s challenging but it’s going to be an exciting race for the fans. Detroit is a great area and we’ve got a lot of people from Ford coming out to watch us and spend time in our hospitality. And, of course, we like the street courses.”

ACS Express is also supported by these associate sponsors: Red Line Oil and Mothers Polish and Wax.
