ACS EPRESS RACING READY TO FLEX ITS MUSCLES
FOR SPEED WORLD CHALLENGE GT AT MID-OHIO
LEXINGTON, OHIO – Muscle cars and middle America go well together, and ACS Express Racing is looking to muscle into victory lane this weekend at Mid-Ohio.
The team’s twin Ford Mustangs, driven by the father-son duo of Mike and Brandon Davis, have the horsepower to handle the challenging road circuit in the SPEED World Challenge GT race, set for Sunday at 4 p.m.
“It will be fun,” said Brandon, currently third in driver point standings. “The track is very technical but there are some good high-horsepower spots so it’s going to be more thrilling than some of the shorter tracks where we run.”
Brandon, who won Long Beach from the pole, drives the jet black #10 Ford Mustang Cobra with green trim. His father, who has an SCCA Trans Am title under his belt as a team owner is behind the wheel of the vibrant neon yellow and purple #11 Ford Mustang Cobra.
By the time they hit the Mid-Ohio surface, it will have been six weeks since the last World Challenge event, which was at Watkins Glen. So the first session for ACS Express Racing will be spent getting back on track, so to speak.
“We tested once (in Southern California (the team is based in Huntington Beach) but it’s still been a long layoff,” Brandon said. “A lot of the other drivers run in different series so they’ve been racing. I’ve not been racing and I’m hungry to get back to it.”
Brandon is a recent college graduate, having just earned a college degree in business management from the University of Denver. He has been “enjoying the Southern California lifestyle” since the last race but he’s a racer and is eager to get back behind the wheel.
Mike Davis spent the last week in Hawaii on a business trip.
“Hawaii is quite a bit different than Mid-Ohio,” Mike Davis said. “But we’re hoping to bring some paradise to our team here with a big win.”
ACS Express is also supported by these associate sponsors: Red Line Oil and Mothers Polish and Wax.
